In this Blog I will teach you how to create your Dropshipping Store in Spain with the leading Dropshipping platform Shopify step by step and with minimal investment.
Thanks to the 14-day trial period on Shopify that we will provide you, you will be able to create your online store for free; the only cost you will have will be the domain, however I inform you that you can have your Shopify visible with the default .myshopify domain for free.
Before starting, I will briefly summarize the dropshipping business model and the Shopify platform.
What is Dropshipping?
Dropshipping is a retail order shipping and delivery method in which the seller does not store or ship their products. Once the seller receives an order, they purchase it from a third party (supplier) who does have stock of the product and manages the shipping to the end customer. As a result, the merchant (seller) does not handle the product.
Some of the advantages of this business model are:
- Very low investment
- Easily scalable
- Very effective method to validate a product
- Easy to start
As you already know, I do not recommend keeping the dropshipping model forever; once you have validated product demand and profitability, the ideal approach is to place bulk orders, so you can save a lot of costs and offer a much more personalized experience to the end customer (branding, express shipping, quality, etc..)
What is Shopify?
Shopify is an e-commerce engine with more than 1 million active users, allows you to create an online store without technical knowledge and without having to worry about web hosting, integrations, updates, versions, servers, etc.
Bloggers use WordPress. Online stores use Shopify. Shopify allows you to sell both online with your own website and in person with Shopify POS.
Although in Spain Shopify it has not reached the percentage of store volume that other countries like the US have, there are major brands using Shopify with thousands of users every day, such as Hawkers, Moorgon Wallets o Scalpers enjoying reasonable success.

Why Dropshipping with Shopify?
Shopify features apps such as oberlo that allow you to import products directly from a supplier to your store on Shopify, sell them, and have the supplier themselves handle the shipment to the end customer, automating the sales process.
Currently Shopify is the main platform for Dropshipping, not only because of Oberlo or the apps that allow you to integrate with suppliers, but also because of the modules it has created for exporting order information.
STEP 1: Create Your Dropshipping Online Store with Shopify
Creating an account on Shopify is a quick and simple process. Clicking on the button below will take you to the Shopify page where you will have a trial period of 14 days without the need to enter your card or any payment method until after the 14 days. Once you are on the page, you will see an empty field at the top of the screen in which you must enter your email address.
Enter your email address in this field. It will ask you to create a password for your account and enter the name you have chosen for your store. Then, you must answer a few questions related to your experience in the E-Commerce field and provide some personal information.
(Remember, the name you give to your online store will be the domain you will have for free with Shopify)
Once you have completed this form, your Shopify account will be fully functional. Afterwards, you will need to configure the settings for your account.
STEP 2: Customize the Design of Your Online Store
- Choose the template you like best.
- Customize your Online Store
Shopify stands out for its interface; it makes customizing templates very easy for users. Shopify templates are fully optimized to be responsive on any device, and they will hardly ever give you any errors.
If you want to customize something that the template's own settings do not allow, don't worry. Once you join a plan, Shopify gives you 1 hour of code editing by their specialists for free.
On the other hand, if you have any problems or questions, you can talk to an agent at any time; Shopify offers customer support 24/7 via live chat or email.
STEP 3: Import Products with Oberlo
Well, at this point, the only thing left for us to do is add the products and configure the payment methods where we want to receive the money from sales.
- Go to the “apps” section
- Search for the Oberlo app and install it
- Once you are in Oberlo, go to the “search products” menu
- In this menu you will find a wide variety of products with suppliers that offer dropshipping; AliExpress is the winning platform for dropshipping with Shopify. The vast majority of suppliers who can afford to do dropshipping have their products on AliExpress.
- Identify your niche or a product you think has potential. You need to be clear about what your sales channel will be: Google, Facebook Ads, Instagram, TikTok, etc..
- Once you have found your niche or product, it's time to customize it; click on import product. In the “import list” menu you will find all imported products; here you can set the title, description, and price you want.
- Oberlo's prices are really low; now you have to set your price and give it a personalized touch with the description, images, etc..
- When you have finished your product, click on “import to store”; it will redirect you to Shopify, where you can customize the product even further and add it to collections, sections, etc..
- Finally, having all the products ready, customize the store with the products and do the corresponding branding.

FINAL STEP
Congratulations! If you have made it this far, I understand that you are serious and motivated. The Dropshipping with Shopify is a business model ideal for getting started in entrepreneurship, you will learn to create your own brand, sell online, find niches, products winners, manage a company, serve customers, copywriting and above all, marketing. All this for only €29 a month or even free if you manage to sell in less than 14 days :).
Below I will mention the final steps to start selling.
- Set up payments.
- Go to the settings menu
- Click on payment providers
- Set up Paypal and Shopify Payments
- Personally, I recommend that you configure paypal, many people prefer to use this payment method as it is considered safer, configuration will take you a few minutes and more people will buy from you.
- For card payments you can use Shopify Payments or Stripe, both work very well.
- Configure Shipping.
- Choose how much you want to charge for shipping, you can opt for free shipping, always charge for shipping, or my recommendation, free shipping until reaching a certain amount. If your best-selling product costs 19.99 set 20€ and that way you encourage the customer to add another product to the cart (upsell).
- IMPORTANT: Integrate Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel with your Shopify Dropshipping. Google Analytics and Facebook Ads will have high-value information about your customers, interests, gender, age. This will allow you to see your customers' metrics to then optimize your ads. By having these two platforms integrated, you will be able to show ads to people who have visited your Online Store but haven't finished buying(Retargeting). On the other hand, marketing campaigns will be better optimized and you will have the option to make LookAlikes.
- Create your profile on Instagram and Facebook: Social Networks are currently essential communication channels for any brand, having a profile on these platforms will allow you to create a bond with your audience, allowing content managers to create loyalty strategies, which are useful for generating communities around the brand and ultimately increasing sales.
Andi García's Recommendations:
- SEO: A very important part of Online Stores is their SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Working on the description of a product understanding the term SEO can get you sales organically.
- Register your Online Store in Google Search Console
- Add Keywords(Keywords) relevant in your descriptions
- Edit the Meta-Description of your products
- Shorten your product links by including only the keywords.
- Add Alt to your images so they rank on Google Images
- Do interlinking between your products and collections.
- CREATE CONTENT: Do blogs, edit images of your products and upload it to instagram, pinterest, facebook. Make ads with the videos provided by suppliers and upload them to youtube. All of this will get indexed on Google and it is very possible, if the content is of quality, that you will rank, whether on a youtube, on google, or on pinterest. All these platforms will recommend your content and you will gradually generate traffic in an organicway, which can turn into potential customers.
- WORK ON EMAIL MARKETING CAMPAIGNS: Did you know that 59% of consumers state that their purchasing decisions are influenced by email marketing. Setting up email marketing campaigns is really simple on shopify. With Apps like Klaviyo o Mailchimp email marketing has become truly accessible, these tools allow you to automate the entire sending of emails, they have hundreds of fully customizable templates, giving your customers a value to your superior brand.
- RETARGETING: Did you know that a customer is 5 times more likely to buy your product if they have already seen, heard, or visited your Online Store? Statistics show that there is a 70% higher chance of getting a conversion with a remarketing campaign than with an initial one. Setting up retargeting campaigns on Google, Facebook, and email is really simple. Shopify will send emails for abandoned carts by default, however configuring them with apps like klaviyo or mailchimp will allow you to customize emails and create more than 1 cart. abandoned email. On the other hand, once you have Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel configured, you can start showing your ads to those customers who did not complete the purchase. On the other hand, I recommend that you install SMS BUMP, this shopify application will send sms automatically once a customer abandons the cart, personally I have the highest ROAS in this type of campaigns.
